Since 2012, Antonis Logothetis, in parallel with selling the fruit to factories, began to make the first wines, which were mainly sweet from sun-dried grapes, as an amateur. Over the years and after several experiments, in 2017 he founded the Tsoukalas winery, where the first labels of the winery were officially created.
Since then, our sole goal has been the production of excellent quality wines from local and international varieties, which are grown in our privately owned vineyards.
THE FAMILY
The Tsoukalas family has been involved in the Rhodes vineyard area of Embona for 4 generations. The first vines were planted by our great-grandfather, the late Savvas Tsoukalas, who was also a pioneer in the tourism sector of the wider Attavyros area, with successors in the following years by our grandfather Lefteris Tsoukalas and the children of Savvas and Tsambika. For several years, the production was intended for sale to the two large factories on the island and a part of it for the production of our local grape distillate, Souma.

VIABILITY
As a small winery, we are able to personally take care of every stage of production, with respect for the land and the environment. Sustainability is an important goal for us every growing and winemaking season.
We cultivate our vineyards with gentle, environmentally friendly practices, minimizing the use of chemicals and choosing natural solutions. At the winery, we emphasize water and energy conservation, utilizing local suppliers and reducing waste to a minimum.
With small production but great love for nature and wine, we aim for sustainable development that respects our land and offers quality in every bottle.
The grape is born on the vine, ripens in the sun and lives eternally in wine.
